放送から四半世紀が過ぎた今もなお世界中に熱狂的なファンを持つアニメ「serial experiments lain（1998年放送）」にDJ・JJ役で声優出演し、劇中音楽を担当した竹本晃と共にアニメサントラ『Cyberia Mix』を手がけたWASEI JJ CHIKADAによる音楽プロジェクト「Cyberia Layerシリーズ」最新作。ジャケットイラストは、lainのキャラクターデザインを担当した安倍吉俊による描き下ろし。
渋谷スクランブル交差点の喧騒をサンプリングしたLo-Fi Technoで幕を開け、スペイシーでメロディアスなDrum & Bass、808由来の高速エレクトロへと展開。人気曲「Alice」は、沖縄出身・東京拠点のプロデューサーWatasinoによるリミックスで再構築。さらに本作には、Radiohead「Creep」のカバーも収録。12曲すべてが、Cafe & Club Cyberiaのフロア感覚へ直結するように設計されている。

More than a quarter century after its original broadcast,
the anime serial experiments lain (1998) continues to inspire devoted fans around the world.
This is the latest release in the Cyberia Layer series, a music project by WASEI JJ CHIKADA, who voiced the DJ “JJ” in the series and co-produced the original soundtrack Cyberia Mix together with composer Akira Takemoto.
The cover artwork is a newly commissioned illustration by Yoshitoshi ABe, character designer of lain.The album opens with lo-fi techno built from field samples of Shibuya’s scramble crossing, then moves through spacey, melodic drum & bass and high-speed electro driven by classic 808 sounds.
The fan-favorite track “Alice” is reimagined in a remix by Okinawa-born, Tokyo-based producer Watasino.
The album also includes a cover of Radiohead’s “Creep.”
All twelve tracks are designed to connect directly with the physical feel of the Cafe & Club Cyberia floor.
